I read the story in the Statesman about the open primaries and did some research; not much was needed to find the truth. The story is incorrect! We are not 1 of 9 without open primaries...we are 1 of 24 without open primaries. However, there are 26 states with some sort of open primaries, with 2 more states besides us trying to get this on a ballot. I did send an email to the reporter who wrote the story asking for a correction since it gives Oregonians the false sense that we are behind the times.

Mainstream media misleads most citizens. It is very difficult to get them to realize that they are being lied to. Most citizens are too busy to check things out for themselves.
