SKWST: Suffer the Kids

Logo

WHY CAN'T KIDS JUST BE KIDS?

Changes at schools are happening fast! Children are being robbed of their innocence and their future by attacking their identities and failing to prepare them for life! Last year teachers were targeted for training. This year it's the kids.
Parents are finally waking up and wondering what they can do.

YOUR WORDS MATTER

Although most teachers have been holding the line for children for many years and have been able to break through the trauma of the past few years and actually teach and do amazing things for our kids, there are more and more radicalized ones who are feeling empowered to take over the role of the parent and indoctrinate youth.

PLEASE SHOW UP & SPEAK UP
AT THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

AUGUST 9, 6 pm, Salem Keizer School Board Meeting
Sign up now to speak or submit written comments
on the school district website https://salkeiz.k12.or.us/schoolboard/

WE NEED 50 people TO SHOW UP!

The signups close on Monday at 4 pm, August 8, for the
August 9th meeting at 6pm TBS — typically at the Support Services Center, 2575 Commercial Street SE, Salem. Check the website to confirm. School board business meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month.

Equity, Safe & Welcoming, and Gun Control are on the agenda for Tuesday's school board meeting.  It's doublespeak!

These resolutions sound innocent enough but they are playing vocabulary shell games. Under the umbrella of the Equity Lens, woke educators quickly moved last year, from equity to "success/sex" to "safe & welcoming/sex" to "gender transitioning/sex and gender affirming/sex". And they gave up measuring what kids know. Current 2022 District report cards cite only 2019 data.

Why is the primary focus of SK24J on Equity instead of Excellence?
And on Sex instead of Safety?

The "Student Success Plans" are all looking for equal outcomes, blaming disparities on racism with no proof of any racist policies or actions. Yet they lowered expectations and standards so that no one will feel left out. It is insulting to the BIPOC community and discourages personal responsibility. Restorative Justice leads to chaos and lost opportunities for students.

"We want to encourage our teachers to embrace the brilliance of the LGBTQ+ students," said Christy Perry, Superintendent, Salem-Keizer Public Schools,
in her 2021 Report to the school board. This statement illustrates the gushing promotion of the sexual agenda by our Superintendent.

Success is a euphemism for Sexual Rights. And it does not appear that the children are feeling any more welcome. The Secondary student's sense of belonging at school has fallen from 39% in 2018 & 2019, to 35% in 2022. Maybe that's because ODE stated they are teaching kids to view one another as members of identity groups and NOT as individuals? How does that even try to correlate with the talk about children needing "connection" and "trauma-informed" discipline? Their logic is inconsistent but they work hard to hit all of the talking points that parents want to hear.

Have you noticed that the very problem the left claims to be solving is the problem that their polices created?

TELL THE SCHOOL BOARD TO CHANGE COURSE AND GO BACK IN TIME WHEN WE ACTUALLY TAUGHT CHILDREN HOW TO SUCCEED

Superintendent Christy Perry reported, December 4, 2020, and January, 2021, that they were "reimagining" School Discipline.
Yet, SAFETY issues have sharply escalated.

A LEGAL OPINION ON CRT IN SCHOOL

"In many instances, the use of 'Critical Race Theory' and 'antiracism' programming discriminates on the basis of race, color, or national origin in violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Article II, Section 4 of the Montana Constitution, and the Montana Human Rights Act....

"On the Smithsonian NMAAHC's page dealing with 'Whiteness', it asserted at one point that traits such as 'individualism', 'hard work', 'objectivity', 'progress', 'politeness', 'decision-making', and 'delayed gratification', as hallmarks of 'white culture'. Training materials from Argonne National Laboratories, a Federal entity, stated that racism 'is interwoven into every fabric of America' and described statements like 'color blindness' and the 'meritocracy' as 'actions of bias'.

"I would like to note that all of these traits identified above, far from being hallmarks of merely 'white culture', are in fact important hallmarks of a virtuous and productive colorblind society. None of them, however, has any connection to 'whiteness' or 'white identity'. They are self-evident virtues — universally applicable to, and shared by, people of all races, colors, creeds, and national origins. Because men and women are created equal, they can all equally appreciate and adopt those values...."

A LEGAL OPINION, May 27, 2021, FROM AUSTIN KNUDSEN, MONTANA ATTORNEY GENERAL

STANDING FOR EXCELLENCE

FINDING COMMON GROUND
SKWST aligns with the shared goal by SKEA to return Honors Programs to Stand Alone classes. We have requested our state legislators to draft a bill preventing Embedded Honors, which robs students of opportunity in the name of equity.

SKWST STANDS BY THE DUEL LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAMS
Dual language programs are based on over forty years of research showing the advantages of learning a second language through academic content instruction. Studies show (Thomas and Collier, 2009) that historically under-served students, especially English Learners, attain greater academic success when they participate in dual language programs.

WE ARE COORDINATING EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS
SKWST is putting together a resource map for families to find and create excellent educational options on our website. Community Resource Mapping can bring communities together by coordinating resources and needs.

PLEASE COME TO OUR EDUCATONAL FORUM ABOUT ED OPTIONS
August 17, 730-830 AM at The Rec, 3500 River Road North, Keizer

See the flyer below. Stay tuned for our Fall Evening Ed Forums returning soon.

TAKE ACTION — WE CAN HELP!

1.  Opt your child out of any controversial, BLM,CRT, SEL/CASL, material. This ability to opt out puts the parent in charge of taking the initiative to ask and must be done in writing once a year. Keep a copy for yourself. Opt out of all surveys -they plant unnecessary sexualized information into your child's head. Look for this in the registration packets of schools.

2.  Show up at the school board meeting on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, 6 pm

3.  Write your comments in the SKSB website portal to the School Board and Superintendent so that it becomes a legal document.

4.  Write a complaint to the principal of your child's school that their civil rights have been violated. This is where change really happens. We are going to have to use the court system to take back our culture.

5.  Write a letter to the local news outlets about your concerns. It will help other have people have courage to speak up.

6.  Come to our Educational Forums; one in the morning and soon we will add one at night.

7.  Engage on social media by liking our pages and commenting so that our influence can spread.

8.  Check out and subscribe to our YOUTUBE page.

9.  Join a committee or volunteer at school. Support a teacher.

10.  Have an honest conversation, look up and say, "Hi", invite someone for a meal.

11.  Go to our NEWLY-branded website for tools and additional information.

12.  PRAY PRAY PRAY for our community.
