South Salem Regional County Meet Up

Meeting Cancelled due to Inclement Weather & Poor Road Conditions

Will reschedule before end of month

Rep. Vicki BergerRep. Kevin CameronWithout question South Salem has the biggest elections this season. Voters will send two new representatives to the Capitol this year because Rep. Vicki Berger (Dist. 20) chose to retire and Rep. Kevin Cameron (Dist. 19) is leaving the legislature to make a run to replace Marion County Commissioner Patti Milne, who is retiring after sixteen years. On top of all that there is a City Council race to consider and Sen. Jackie Winters is up for re-election.

The biggest challenge facing South Salem Republicans will be holding onto the District 20 House seat. With a slight Democrat registration advantage, Rep. Berger has proven masterful in holding the seat. Currently two Republicans are vying for the opportunity to hold the seat and prevent a Democrat pick-up. Kathy GossKarl EricksonKathy Goss, who, along with her husband, Darr, was Salem First Citizen in 2008, will face Karl Erickson, who hopes recent contacts with tea party groups will help him in his first political race.

This Salem meet-up will present a great opportunity to fill precinct posts in south and southeast Salem that are considered important swing precincts.

Join us Thursday, 6 February at 7:00pm at the Scottish Rite Center to learn how you can play a vital role in electing Republicans to all levels of government in this state.
