Redistricting in 2021 also reconfigured House District 15, changing its orientation northward from the Albany/Tangent area into southwestern Marion County and right up to the doorstep of Salem. It's a good trade. She won overwhelmingly in the Marion County portion of the district; the Benton County portion of the old district is more evenly split.
First elected to the House in 2018, she has been connected to politics for much longer. She was a frequent "go-to" guest caller for former Rep. Bill Post as one of his "Ag Women" on his KYKN radio program. In 2016 she was appointed to the Linn County Budget Committee. She has also served on the Albany Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs committee and the local United Way board. She is involved with the Linn County Farm Bureau, Oregon Women for Agriculture, Oregon Trucking Association, and Oregon Seed Council, all of which advocate for agricultural issues before the legislature.
For the 2023 session of the 82nd Oregon Legislative Assembly, she has been elected by her colleagues to the post of Deputy Republican Leader. She will also serve on the Joint Committee on Transportation as co-vice chair, the Joint Committee on the Interstate 5 Bridge, and continue on the House Committee on Business and Labor.
