Sam Brentano joined the Board of Commissioners in 2003, appointed to fulfill the unexpired term of Mike Ryan. Commissioner Brentano lives in Sublimity where he served as mayor, 1982-1993. He retired from his position as president and general manager of United Waste Disposal, Inc. after more than thirty years in the solid waste disposal industry.
With twenty years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Sublimity, Woodburn, and Harrisburg Rural Fire districts, Commissioner Brentano focuses on county emergency management, along with transportation issues. He also works with Commissioner Janet Carlson on children and families issues.
