The Marion County Republican Central Committee (MCRCC) adopted by unanimous vote the following resolution addressing the election to take place at the next meeting of the Republican National Committee (RNC): |
THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE NEEDS NEW LEADERSHIP
WHEREAS, the Trafalgar Group in late December found roughly 73% of GOP voters said the party should elect someone new to lead the Republican National Committee (RNC); and WHEREAS, Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has been leading the RNC since January 2017; and WHEREAS, the RNC is responsible for winning elections by supporting and electing GOP candidates to federal office; and WHEREAS, under Chairwoman McDaniel’s leadership, the GOP lost the House majority in 2018, both the Senate majority and the White House in 2020, and seriously underperformed in 2022, losing one more seat in the Senate and only barely winning the House majority; and WHEREAS, the grassroots have lost faith in Chairwoman McDaniel and the RNC and believe our Party needs new leadership that will address deficiencies in winning elections, out of control spending, fundraising cost control, messaging, GOTV, election integrity, and legal warfare and put the party in closer alignment with its grassroots supporters, voters and donors; and WHEREAS, the 2024 White House fight is about whether or not we can keep this constitutional republic, which is too important to risk; and WHEREAS, two viable candidates who have the experience and vision to address the above problems have offered themselves for RNC Chairwoman and Chairman; and WHEREAS, Oregon Republican Party (ORP) has three voting members of the RNC — State Chairman Justin Hwang, National Committeeman Solomon Yue, and National Committeewoman Tracy Honl — who are elected by county delegates to the ORP State Central Committee and who are accountable to the grassroots;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Marion County Republican Party has lost confidence in the leadership of Chairwoman McDaniel and believes that she must be replaced as RNC Chair; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Marion County Republican Party urges State Chairman Justin Hwang, National Committeeman Solomon Yue, and National Committeewoman Tracy Honl to pay heed to the grassroots' profound dissatisfaction with the RNC and demand for change to vote for an alternative to replace Chairwoman McDaniel when the RNC meets in Dana Point, California on January 27, 2023. Respectively submitted by, Joel Pawloski, Chair |
