PCP & Legislative Training

ATTENTION!! To compensate for getting you up early on a Saturday, this session — and this session only — we will have a special "mystery" guest speaker to enliven the training

Now that the Party has organized for the next biennium it is time to set about the work to which we have pledged ourselves. But first, let's prepare for what is ahead. Marion County Republicans' PCP Coordinator Jessica Snook has brought together her award-winning 5-star-reviewed PCP training and a specially-developed training to interact with legislators. Two training experiences rolled into one!

In 2021 the Legislature will be addressing a new budget and redistricting along with the usual policy battles. Now is the best time to get up to speed on how PCPs can get involved and make their voices heard during session. After all, with the Capitol a part of our back yard, Marion County Republicans have the best opportunities to help shape policy. Join us for training about how to most effectively communicate with your legislator, how to read a bill, and how to track bills as they move through the legislative process.

The first hour of the training will be geared toward newer PCPs and cover the basics of being a PCP, how we fit into the Oregon Republican Party structure, and some suggestions for following Marion County GOP on social media. Jessica will lead three in-person sessions — Monday 7 December; Saturday 12 December; Tuesday 15 December — and two sessions over Zoom — Tuesday 8 December; Sunday 13 December. All weekday evening sessions will run 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Saturday's morning session will run 9:00 am - 12:30 pm and Sunday's afternoon Zoom session will run 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Choose your best time and venue and join us to prepare for a great and challenging year.
