She is returning to the Capitol following a seven-year break. This time, however Jessica George would be able to close the door rather than having to stay out front; that is, if the office wing were not closed due to construction. When her husband, former Senator Larry George was in the Capitol from 2007-2015, she was his chief of staff. That experience, though gained under vastly different circumstances, weighed heavily in her favor when facing the appointing Marion and Yamhill Boards of Commissioners. She received the nod of all but one Marion County Commissioner.

Rep. Bill Post resigned the seat effective 30 November. On Thursday, 9 December, district Republican PCPs convened in Keizer to nominate three individuals who would interview with commissioners from Yamhill and Marion counties. They, in turn, appointed Jessica to complete the year left in the term the next day. Due to the quick actions, Jessica was sworn in and represented House District 25 in the special session convened on Monday, 13 December. She will participate in the short regular session in February, 2022 and the remaining Legislative Days sessions. She will not seek election to the legislature since St. Paul has been drawn into HD 18, more than ably represented by fellow Marion County Republican Rep. Rick Lewis.
