2014 is a big election year in Oregon. In Marion County we will choose a governor, all 9 members of the state House of Representatives — 3 of them brand new — 5 of 6 state senators, 2 County Commissioners, and other lesser-known public servants. Salem 912 is ready with great resources and speakers who will get us equipped to hit the ground for the upcoming election season!
First up this month is Le and Ann Snelling of Revolutionary Persuasion. Their mission is to teach and motivate "policy wonks, pundits, and politicians" how to "speak with truth and passion (how about speak truth with passion?)". If you get nervous about what to say when going door to door for a candidate or you get clammy hands and dry mouth at the thought of calling on constituents, you don't want to miss this meeting! Le and Ann are dedicated to helping men and women develop skills to become revolutionary and persuasive speakers — something that is invaluable when reaching out to the community!
This month's KidsTEA session will focus on virtue and values and the role both play in a vibrant economy. The kids will participate in a game and discussion regarding how government involvement in the economy often leads to more problems than solutions.
