Appointed to complete the term of Rep. Fred Girod when he moved to the Senate in February 2008, Rep. Sprenger won election that November to her first full term. In their endorsement of her 2010 re-election, the editorial staff of the Statesman-Journal described her as one who epitomizes the concept of the citizen-legislator. She is passionate about her district and even as a member of the minority caucus during the last session, she ably represented the people of the largely rural district (the largest city is Lebanon) by constantly reminding her urban counterparts how legislation would affect residents of rural Oregon.

For the 2013 session, Rep. Sprenger's committee assignments will focus her attention with laser-like precision on education. She will serve as Vice-Chair of the Education Committee and sit on the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on Education.
