Even with only his first term in elective office under his belt, Sen. Larry George is no stranger to Oregon's political scene. In addition to being the son of retired State Senator Gary George, his business interests and educational background take him around the globe and involve the complex issues of international trade and alternative energy. From 1992-2002 he was executive director of Oregonians in Action, taking it from a small interest to the largest property rights advocacy group in the U.S. Since 2000, he has been president of the Oregon Family Farm Assoc.; finally, he sits on the board of Water for Life, Inc., a grassroots organization defending water rights for Oregon's farmers and ranchers.

For the 2013 session, Sen. George will continue as Vice-Chair of the General Government, Consumer and Small Business Protection Committee and also serve as Vice-Chair on the Finance and Revenue Committee and Co-Vice Chair of the Tax Credits Committee.
