Your Marion County Republican Party is alive and well. We have an enthusiastic Executive Committee with optimistic plans for the future of the Republican Party in Marion County. If these plans are to bear fruit, however, we must have the help of Republicans like you. The Republican Party in Marion County has made great strides in recent years in voter registration and at the polls. We owe a great debt to those who have given sacrificially of time and resources toward this effort. Now, we must build on this past success.

Oregon's Willamette Valley, with Marion County in the forefront, is ripe for Republican growth. With your support, Marion County will continue to be a majority Republican County. The remark is too often made, however, that there is no reason to register Republican because there is no difference in the two major parties. How untrue! There is a vast difference in the two major parties. As a Party, we must educate the voters about these differences. Voters need to know that it is not enough to just vote Republican. In order to bring about economic growth and improve living conditions in the Willamette Valley, we must register Republican. The Democrat Party has had a virtual lock on state government for far too long. We need a change and we need it NOW!

How do we educate the public? Basically, we accomplish this goal through grass-roots organization:

•  Organize our precincts
•  Conduct voter registration drives
•  Advertise and sponsor political events
•  Organize Party affiliated groups
•  Train Get-Out-The-Vote(GOTV) workers
•  Work with candidates to elect Republicans to office locally, statewide and nationally
•  Promote, as effectively as possible, the strong fiscal and moral policies of the Republican Party.

Now with these plans, as with anything worthwhile, there is a cost. This cost involves both money and labor. Communication through print, websites or advertising is costly. Yet, we must communicate. Every individual that registers Republican automatically becomes a member of the Republican Party with full voting rights and privileges. There is no charge! But there is so much more we need to do so we are asking you to help us with our goals. For a once-a-year donation of up to $50 per person, you can claim an Oregon Income Tax credit equal to that donation. Of course, we appreciate larger donations. Yet no amount is too small. We welcome all donations.

Checks should be made out to the Marion County Republican Party and mailed to the attention of David Schreffler, Treasurer, at Marion County Republican Central Committee, PO Box 20147, Keizer, OR 97307-0147.
