For most of the last century and all of the 21st century, America has been using the wrong yardstick to measure our political leaders. We have been using the wrong measuring stick to evaluate and select our Nation’s candidates for public office. We have been measuring them by the wrong standard to determine who is qualified to lead our country, who will be our President and fashion our foreign policy, and who will represent us in Congress. The same inappropriate yardstick has also been mis-applied to almost every State Assembly race and every gubernatorial campaign in the country for a long time! It is most unfortunate, but it is absolutely true!

Anita MonCrief’s courageous little truth-telling website “Emerging Corruption” was hacked last week by unknown internet saboteurs and forced to shut down. These ruthless electronic assailants compromised the site to such an extent that it was not possible to remain on line. The last I heard there was no estimated date as to when the site will be officially back up and running again, or positive confirmation of who is actually responsible for the digital attack. However we can imagine…

Barack Obama is the “Great Pretender.” He is actually the Great Pretender President! He daily pretends that he is competent to carry out the important duties of the highest office in the land, when in reality he is not even qualified to occupy the highest office in the land. The Constitution states in Article II, Section 1 that in order to be the President of the United States, in addition to being thirty-five years old, and fourteen years a resident of the United States, one must also be a natural born citizen. So even if Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, which seems highly unlikely at this point, his father was definitely not an American citizen! So by that very definition, according to some highly credible sources, Mr. Obama is not even eligible to be the President of the United States period, end of report!

Do you want to go back to the failed old policies of the past, the policies that got us into this mess we are in, asks President Obama’s top political advisor. Never mind all of the failed policies of the present under Barack Obama. Pay no attention to them! Just look beyond them to the failed policies of the past he says, the policies of former President George W. Bush. But wait a minute, I think I hear the Ghost of George W. Bush Past! Is he rearing his restless head again? The Democrats just won’t let him rest in peace! “Every time President Obama needs a scapegoat or a little boost in the polls they dis-inter his tattered reputation again! Alas poor George! There really is no rest for the wicked is there?

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said something in his recent television interview on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace that was very interesting. In fact it reminded me of something that Sarah Palin once said during the 2008 Presidential campaign. Justice Scalia noted that the interpretation of the Affordable Care Act can only be stretched as far as the language will bear. He then remarked that, “the penalty in the Affordable Care Act was not a pig, and it could never be a pig!” This actually reminded me of something that Sarah Palin said in her very first speech on the national stage. She said, “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.”

Alexander the Great, Ptolemy, Julius Caesar, Brutus, Antony and Cleopatra, and Caesar Augustus all had something in common. What is it that unites all of these famous historic figures?... They all lived during a very brief period of time before the birth of Jesus Christ! So many things happened during those few tumultuous years between the death of Julius Caesar in 44B.C. and the birth of Jesus Christ roughly around 4 B.C. that almost no other time in history is nearly quite as significant. So many world changing events that altered the course of human history unfolded during those critical years between the murder of Rome’s first Caesar, and the birth of the world’s only Savior.

A little bit of insightful information was provided this morning by a very unlikely source, National Public Radio which is not necessary known for its fairness in reporting the news. It appears that Democrats are more willing to tolerate their political leaders lying to them than Republicans are!... Isn’t that interesting? That is what this new study showed. Now it’s a proven fact backed up by actual scientific data, and not just the subject of intelligent speculation anymore! Democrats actually like liars better than Republicans do! In a recently released study broadcast over National Public Radio by their very own Ari Shapiro, NPR reported that members of the “Donkey Party” have now become full-fledged members of the “Jackass Party” or as I am want to call them the “Dumbass Party”. So you see, Democrats really do tell more lies in order to get elected than their Republican counterparts do!

Apparently President Barack Obama has a kill switch for the Internet! He can personally cut off internet service to millions of American homes, and he can single handedly stop hundreds of millions of Americans from communicating with each other via the net with just a figurative mere flip of the switch. And to make matters even worse, he can do it all without any Congressional oversight or legitimate Court order! I know how much the Democrats hated George W. Bush with his big Texas swagger, but even George W. Bush with all of his Texas swagger didn’t try to do that!

Here we go again. We are getting used to it by now. Another senseless act of violence committed by a youth with a firearm. And another mindless attempt to limit the rights of Americans to own handguns. One more in a long chain of attempts to “infringe” upon “the right of the people to keep and bear arms.” We are getting used to these incessant attempts to limit our Constitutional Rights as well.

It is my belief that we should continue to call the punishment in the new Health Care Law for not carrying insurance what it really is. It is a penalty for not purchasing health insurance! Let’s not give in to the pressure from the media to start calling it a tax now, just because John Roberts called it a tax. Let’s face it. The punishment in the Affordable Care Act is a penalty no matter what the Chief Justice calls it. It is still a penalty no matter what the media says! It is a government ordered fine for not carrying the mandated health insurance. A fine is not a tax! Well at least it isn’t in my world anyway. It is a punishment that is attached to a specific undesirable action or behavior which is regulated by law. And Americans have never had a law before that required us to buy health insurance!

There is an old Islamic custom that requires treating a conquered and subservient people like second class citizens, even in their own country. This ancient Muslim tradition is called Dhimmitude. It requires that a conquered nation either convert to Islam en masse, or its people as individuals will be forced to pay a head tax just for the privilege of living in their own land! You see, under the Uma (the Muslim World) you can still live in your own country, but you have to pay for your crime of remaining a non-Muslim. The only other alternative is death…or immigration if you can escape!

We knew as conservatives that there was going to be a lot of time between the filing of the first legal challenge to Obama Care, and the time when all of the separate court cases would eventually be consolidated into one, and that one case would eventually be heard by the United States Supreme Court. We knew that there would be plenty of time to get to one of the more moderate members of the Court and persuade them to change their mind and vote along with the liberals to uphold the Affordable Care Act. We knew all along that the defenders of Obama Care only needed to peel off one of the more moderate Justices, and the Affordable Care Act would be upheld by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4 by the highest court in the land. We always thought that the vote we had to worry about, the one that might flip was Anthony Kennedy’s vote, that he was the weakest link in the conservative chain, the most likely member of the Court to switch sides. No one ever believed for a minute that John Roberts could be had, or bought off at any price!

I am going to vote for Mitt Romney in November and I hope that all of my fellow Republicans will get out and vote for our Party's nominee too, but his campaign team just has to stop promoting all of the spin. It just isn’t true to say that John Roberts is a genius, and Romney is not going to win his way to the White House by having his campaign staffers lie to us just the same way that the Democrats do! John Roberts is no genius. He is not even a conservative, so stop trying to tell us that he is! If John Roberts was a smart conservative, he would have put a stake right through the heart of the Affordable Care Act when he had the opportunity. If he had done that then the failure of Obama's signature piece of legislation would have been the nail in Barack Obama's coffin in November, or at least a millstone around his neck! Do you really think that Justices Scalia, Thomas and Alito are stupid, all three of them??? “A bird in hand is better than two in the Bush.” That’s what I believe!

When is a tax really not a tax? And when does something that is really not a tax, but rather a penalty for failing to buy insurance become a tax instead? Are you about as confused as I am? Well apparently it is whenever the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court decides that it is, because he is the only man in the whole country that has the power to actually change the definition of words, and to give them new meaning! He is the only person in the whole country who has the capacity to redefine the English language to suit his own whims. Now with the Court’s permission you can do just about anything you want in America that is un-constitutional. Supposedly all you have to do is get the Chief Justice’s permission to change the definition of what is, is!

Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona called the recent Supreme Court decision on Arizona’s tough illegal immigration law SB 1070, “a victory for all Americans.” The central part of the law was upheld in an 8 to 0 decision Tuesday. Justice Elena Kagan recused herself from all votes regarding the Arizona law. The reason she gave for recusing herself was that she had been the Solicitor General when the Federal Government first sued Arizona over this matter. All of the other Liberal Justices on the Court voted with the conservative members to uphold the most important aspect of the Arizona law, however the victory was neither unqualified nor complete.

Writing for my local newspaper’s editorial board a seasoned reporter wrote that the United States holds some kind of leverage over Egypt’s ruling military, and that we should not fail to use it. The editorial is the official position of the only newspaper in my city. The Op-Ed was written after the recent elections in Egypt, and the ruling military’s response to those free and fair elections. The Newspaper couldn’t be further from the truth! Nor could the particular response that its editorial board advocates America should take to events happening in Egypt right now, be more wrong, or more detrimental to peace in the Middle East! Let me explain…

Since I am not a Liberal, I don’t believe in the usual Democratic Party nonsense about reparations. That is just more of the same old “Great Society” gobbledygook that has led to the re-enslavement of millions of our fellow Americans over the last fifty years, and turned them into welfare recipients. But how can we move forward as a harmonious and psychologically healthy people when one side won’t even acknowledge the obvious pain caused to the other side by the simple act of enslaving their ancestors for over two hundred years? That systematic act has had a lasting effect upon the descendants of those African slaves, and far reaching consequences for America that still linger today!

This little story has a rather unusual history. The author of this little story is unknown, and it has a rather roundabout way of getting to us. It has circled the globe many times. I found it on the internet on a Facebook page in Brisbane, Queensland. And I brought it back here to the States, where I published it on my website in Oregon. From there it will probably keep circling the globe again and again. It is a wonderful little story of what life used to be like in America, and it illustrates the type of good old fashioned common sense, discipline, and solid moral values that our parents grew up with.

Here comes the judge again. Well actually here come the nine judges again…the nine judges of the United States Supreme Court. They are coming this time with their legal decision on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which is President Obama’s signature piece of legislation. Their decision will be announced sometime in the next two weeks. It is the most important decision of the last one-hundred years because it will define the role of the Federal Government for possibly the next one hundred years. It is imperative that the justices of the Supreme Court get this decision right, and it would be much better if it wasn’t just another one of their divisive five to four decisions!

More than anything else, the election of the next President of the United States is about selecting the next members of the Supreme Court who will soon be replacing the next aging and retiring Justices. Ruth Bader Ginsberg is 79 years old, and she is not in very good health. She has had multiple recurrences of cancer (colon cancer in 1999, and pancreatic cancer in 2009). While she would like to remain on the Bench until 2015 and retire at the age of 82, whether or not she is able to do that remains to be seen. Even if she does, her retirement would still fall somewhere during the next President’s term.
